Returns & Refunds Policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
1. Our 30-Day Return Policy
At Activator D, we want you to be happy with your purchase.
We offer customers a 30-day return period for eligible products purchased directly from activator-d.store.
You may request a return within 30 days of receiving your order, subject to the conditions in this policy.
Our 30-day return policy is an additional benefit provided by Activator D and does not replace or limit any consumer rights you may have under South African law.
2. Eligibility for a 30-Day Change-of-Mind Return
For a change-of-mind return under our 30-day policy, the product should:
-
Be purchased directly from activator-d.store.
-
Be returned within 30 days of delivery.
-
Be unused.
-
Be unopened.
-
Be in its original condition.
-
Be in its original packaging where reasonably possible.
-
Not have been mixed, diluted or applied to a swimming pool or other surface.
-
Include all components or accessories supplied with the product.
Because our products are pool-treatment chemicals, opened, used, mixed or contaminated chemical products are not eligible for a change-of-mind return under our voluntary 30-day policy.
This restriction does not remove or limit statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise legally returnable goods.
3. How to Request a Return
Contact us before sending anything back.
Email: info@activator-d.store
Telephone: 061 519 4860
Please provide:
-
Your full name
-
Order number
-
Product you wish to return
-
Date the order was received
-
Reason for the return
-
Photographs where appropriate
We will provide return instructions after reviewing your request.
Please do not send a return to our physical address without first contacting us.
4. Return Shipping Costs
For a change-of-mind return under our voluntary 30-day policy, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the product to us.
We recommend using a tracked courier service and retaining proof of delivery.
If the return is because:
-
we sent the wrong product;
-
the product arrived damaged;
-
the product is defective; or
-
another circumstance applies where we are legally responsible for the return,
we will arrange or reimburse the appropriate return delivery costs in accordance with applicable law.
5. Damaged Products
If your product arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible.
Please take photographs of:
-
The outer packaging
-
The shipping label
-
The damaged product
-
Any visible leakage or damage
Keep the packaging and product until we advise you what to do.
We may arrange collection or return through Bob Go or another courier service.
Where appropriate, we will provide a replacement or refund in accordance with applicable law.
6. Incorrect Product
If we send you the wrong product, please do not use it.
Contact:
We will arrange an appropriate solution.
Where the error is ours, we will cover the appropriate cost of returning the incorrect product and sending the correct product, where applicable.
7. Defective Products
Our products are covered by applicable South African consumer-protection legislation.
Where a product is defective, unsafe, of poor quality, or otherwise subject to a statutory remedy, your rights under applicable law will apply.
The Consumer Protection Act provides an implied warranty of quality and, in applicable circumstances, allows consumers to return defective goods within six months of delivery.
If you believe your product is defective, contact us at:
We may request reasonable information to investigate the issue, including photographs, batch information, product details and information about how the product was used.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights.
8. Our 30-Day Policy and Opened Chemicals
For change-of-mind returns, we cannot accept products that have been opened or used.
This is because pool-treatment products are chemical products and, once opened, mixed or used, their condition and safety for resale may be affected.
However, if an opened product is defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise covered by a statutory consumer remedy, please contact us.
Your statutory rights are not affected by this 30-day policy.
9. Electronic Transaction Cooling-Off Rights
South African law may provide consumers with a cooling-off right for qualifying electronic transactions.
ECTA provides a seven-day cooling-off period for qualifying transactions involving goods, subject to the exceptions contained in the Act. The direct cost of returning goods may be charged to the consumer where permitted by the Act.
Our voluntary 30-day return policy is separate from these statutory rights.
Where our 30-day policy provides a more favourable return option than the minimum required by law, the terms of our 30-day policy will apply to eligible change-of-mind returns.
10. Return Inspection
When we receive a returned product, we may inspect it to confirm that it meets the requirements of our 30-day change-of-mind policy.
If the product is eligible for the voluntary return, we will process the applicable refund.
If the product does not meet the requirements for a change-of-mind return, we will contact you and explain the outcome.
This inspection does not affect statutory rights relating to defective or unsafe goods.
11. Refunds
Approved refunds will generally be processed using the original payment method.
Payments made through Yoco may be refunded through the relevant payment-processing system.
The time for the refund to reflect in your bank account may depend on Yoco and your bank.
For statutory refunds, we will comply with the applicable legal timeframes.
12. Refund of Original Delivery Charges
For an ordinary change-of-mind return under our voluntary 30-day policy, the original delivery charge is not refundable unless we agree otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise.
Where the return results from an error on our part, a defective product or another circumstance where the law requires the delivery charge to be refunded, we will provide the applicable refund.
13. Exchanges
Where practical, we may offer an exchange instead of a refund.
For change-of-mind returns, an exchange is subject to product availability and the eligibility requirements of this policy.
Where a statutory remedy applies, the consumer's rights under applicable law will determine the available remedy.
14. Returns Through Bob Go
Where appropriate, returns may be arranged through Bob Go or another courier service.
Customers must follow the return instructions we provide.
Where a return is processed through Bob Go, relevant information such as your name, address, telephone number and order details may be used to arrange and track the return.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information about how personal information is processed.
15. Products Purchased From Other Sellers
This 30-day return policy applies only to products purchased directly from:
activator-d.store
If you purchased an Activator D product from another retailer, marketplace or distributor, you must contact the seller from whom you made the purchase.
Their return process may apply, subject to your statutory consumer rights.
16. Sale and Promotional Products
Discounted and promotional products are also covered by applicable consumer-protection legislation.
Unless otherwise stated, eligible sale products may also qualify for our 30-day change-of-mind return policy, provided they meet the return conditions in this policy.
A discounted product being sold at a lower price does not automatically remove statutory consumer rights.
17. Products That Cannot Be Returned for Change of Mind
Under our voluntary 30-day policy, the following are not eligible for change-of-mind returns:
-
Opened chemical products
-
Used chemical products
-
Products that have been mixed or diluted
-
Products that have been applied to a pool or other surface
-
Products damaged through misuse or incorrect storage
-
Products contaminated after delivery
-
Products altered by the customer
This does not affect statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe or incorrectly supplied goods.
18. Proof of Purchase
We may request reasonable proof that the product was purchased directly from Activator D.
This may include:
-
Order number
-
Order confirmation
-
Invoice
-
Payment confirmation
-
Name and contact details used when ordering
19. Fraudulent or Unauthorised Transactions
If an order or payment appears fraudulent or unauthorised, we may suspend processing while the transaction is investigated.
Where appropriate, we may work with Yoco or other relevant service providers to investigate the transaction.
Nothing in this section limits any legal rights you may have.
20. Complaints
If you are unhappy with a product, return or refund decision, please contact us first.
Email: info@activator-d.store
Telephone: 061 519 4860
We will make reasonable efforts to investigate and resolve complaints fairly.
Nothing in this policy prevents a consumer from exercising any right available under South African law.
21. Statutory Consumer Rights
This policy does not replace or limit rights provided by applicable South African legislation.
This includes, where applicable:
-
The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008
-
The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002
-
Other applicable consumer-protection legislation
Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory statutory consumer right, the statutory right will prevail.
22. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Returns & Refunds Policy from time to time.
The latest version will be published on this page.
The date at the top of the policy indicates when it was last updated.
